This artwork is inspired by a recent trip to the highlands and captures the landscape as I travelled from Loch Lomond to the Glencoe. Painted from memory, the energetic brush strokes and mark-making aim to demonstrate the sense of journey and changing landscape. I use colour to demonstrate the emotions/feelings associated to my memory of journey. I felt at home in this landscape. There was a warmth and it somehow felt welcoming despite the ominous looking mountains, so it felt right to use earthy pinks and browns to represent this.
